The release date for my next project, African in New York will be February 21st. The Fader debuted one of the songs from the album yesterday, and it’s up for free download. The track that they premiered is my remix of Sorie Kondi’s “Without Money, No Family” and coincidentally Sorie’s campaign to raise money to come to SXSW was funded today! (Congrats, and thanks to all!) Stream the album, and buy the whole thing here!
Check out this Navidades compilation by Isa GT, featuring my remix of her song La Cumbia. It’s a Caribbean inspired soca/cumbia meant for all you warm weather holidays celebrators. You can download my remix for free: Buy the comp as a holiday gift on all major digital stores, like iTunes, Beatport and Amazon and listen to it while you drink rum with your loved ones around the house:
I just uploaded a new mix to Ghetto Bassquake and Akwaaba Music. I also made a commentary on the political and economic context this music was made in at Africa is a Country, and Cluster Mag (If you’ve been missing my posts over at Cluster Mag, I’m doing a series on my travels in West Africa this summer. I already touched on Ghana and Liberia, and will end with my reflections on my return visit to Sierra Leone.) This mix […]
Chancletas y Camisetas Boradada EP is out today! Buy it on iTunes for only $4. You can also buy a physical copy on Amazon, or if you’re in the Bay, one of the great, still existing, local record stores.. Out of the 8 songs, I produced Panty Wanty, La Chola, and Camiseta Borda. Oro11 and I produced Cueria, originally as “War Dem Want” on the Banana Clipz album, and we’ll be releasing a riddim run on Dutty Artz later this […]
Banana Clipz is out and available as a free download at Ghetto Bassquake! Also check out a new mix I did over at Eddie Stats’ Ghetto Palms Blog. Soukous, Champeta, and Kwaito, a mixed inspired by one of the greatest cities in the world, Baranquilla, Colombia.
I have to say I am very excited that it is time for me to put this up: Banana Clipz Preview Mega-Mini Mix I’ve been waiting to do this style of mix for years. The influence from all those Dancehall mixes I absorbed as a youth have been smashed into this 8 minute laser extravaganza. I know that I am probably just as guilty of this as the next person, but I beg you: after downloading this mix, pleeease do […]

Artwork by Robert Trujillo “Hello everybody, reporting live from somewhere!” I’d like to share the very exciting for me news that my first EP of original material is up and available for purchase at iTunes, Amazon, or Boomkat online retailers. I’d love the support if you feel like purchasing the record. I’ve been working really hard on producing music for the past few months (there’s been a lack of posting both here and at Ghetto Bassquake.) A slew of releases […]
