It’s time to head back down to Austin, and this SXSW I’m participating in the ALL AFRICA Showcase. SXSW this year is going to be a big milestone for African pop music’s representation at a major American music event. The showcase is a two day event put together by Society HAE and Spinlet. It’s really amazing how many great African artists are at the festival this year. I feel honored to be a part of it. Check the schedule to see who’s coming, or the round up I did of the African artists I know about on Africa is a Country.
This year during the conference, I’m speaking on a panel as well. I’ll be a part of “Boys and Girls ‘N the Hood: Regional Music Scenes, Then and Now” hosted by Will Hermes on Friday at 12:30 in the convention center.
Lastly, to file under tips for über fun at SXSW, make sure to stop by one of my brothers Orion and the Peligrosa crew’s many “unofficial” parties. Austin’s hosts with the most are hosting a host of nights and days that I, and many other artists will be hanging around when not on “official” business. Come get a drink and say hi to the fam!
